[00:00:46] Are you obsessed with building wealth like Kim Daly is obsessed with building wealth? I think everybody is kind of privately obsessed with building wealth, whether they will publicly reveal that or not.
[00:01:01] Everybody is obsessed with making money, having freedom, all the definitions of wealth.
[00:01:09] But the conversation I want to have today is around why I chose franchising to build my wealth through, and then also how our mindset plays a role in actually building the wealth.
[00:01:24] So let's back up to the beginning of this conversation and really talk about, like, why we all want wealth. What is wealth? Well, in basic terms, we all want money and time, so that's why we have jobs, right? We go to work to earn money, but when we work for other people, our time is owned by our employer. We have sometimes a glass ceiling of how much money we can make. We have to deal with things that if we were to own our own business, we wouldn't have to deal with, like office politics or decisions being made on your. About your job on your behalf without anybody asking you, right? You have to give up your life that you are entitled to live for this job because the boss says, oh, you got to go to India, or, hey, you got to travel to Denver next week. And so you end up missing things that are important to you. And you know that better than I know that, because chances are, if you're listening to the show, it's because you're seeking ways to build wealth, and that's why you're obsessed with franchising. So that's why I wanted to make the show, because I'm speaking right to your guts.
[00:02:31] But there's also people out there that I've met over the last 24 years who are already in the alternative investing world. They're not working for other people. They may be real estate investors, they're in syndication, and. And they're looking for diversification in that portfolio. But here's the thing between both types of avatars, if you will, that come to this Conversation with Kim Daly.
[00:02:55] Both people are looking to build cash flow. They own and control.
[00:03:00] Why?
[00:03:01] When we own and control the cash flow, then we get to decide how much, how sustainable, and we get to define the rules of what we're willing to do to earn the cash flow, obviously. But I want to state that because I don't know that it is so obvious, right?
[00:03:24] Freedom is the key word that we're looking for. And when we own our cash flow, we're totally free.
[00:03:31] So then we come to the conversation of, well, what are the ways to own cash flow? And certainly there are passive investments. I myself have those.
[00:03:41] And I encourage you, in a well rounded portfolio, you need multiple streams of revenue if you ultimately want to build a life where you are totally financially free, meaning you have more income coming into your home than it costs you to live. That's the technical definition of financial freedom. You need multiple streams of revenue.
[00:04:02] I have multiple streams of revenue. Some are totally passive to me.
[00:04:07] A couple of them are active for me, and those are my businesses. But the reason I believe the business is at the heart of that alternative investor portfolio is because the business is going to produce the fastest amount of cash flow and the highest amount of cash flow. Typically, I'm sure somebody can challenge me and say, yeah, but there's always exceptions to the rule. But in most scenarios, the businesses we own will produce the highest amount of cash flow.
[00:04:41] So if you want to get to the point where you can build passive income, my recommendation is building your active income, your businesses to cash flow overflow, and then taking the overflow and funneling that into the passive investments. That's what I did. That's my story. I'm not here to tell you about my story in this episode.
[00:05:03] So that's how the alternative investor portfolio goes. That's why we're building it, because we want wealth and the business is the heart of it, because it's the fastest way to cash flow that we own and control.
[00:05:21] Now let's bring in franchising. Why does Kim Daly love franchising so much? Why did I build my, you know, wealth through franchising? Why have I created a thousand franchise owners in this country? They're building wealth through franchising because a franchise business allows you to not be out there as an entrepreneur figuring everything out on your own. The franchise allows you to buy down that learning curve of starting a business, which is the riskiest thing you can do is start a business.
[00:05:52] So we're buying down that learning curve, thereby lowering the risk of business ownership. But there's more to it than that. In the franchise, you're buying proven systems and technology and marketing and maybe even a brand name. If you're investing in a well established franchise brand, you're also buying a partnership. This is very important, surrounding yourself with people who can be there when things hit the fan and you need a little bit of support. It's gonna happen. No, even in a franchise. Right, because you're human. And there's more to success in business than just buying a great strategy.
[00:06:33] In fact, that's gonna be what I also wanna talk about, which is the mindset that goes with that great strategy.
[00:06:39] So putting yourself in a community of like minded people who, some of them are there to support you. That's the corporate entity at the franchise and some of them are the other franchisees who are on this wealth building journal who are on this wealth building journey alongside you. Well, those people, they want what you want and you may be a little bit ahead of them and be able to give them some ideas. And they may be a little bit ahead of you and be able to give you some ideas. But the whole idea is that everybody's here to help everybody. That's why I love franchising so much. It's this entire industry of people helping people.
[00:07:18] You know, I was a franchisee or am a franchisee of a company called Franchoice. We're actually independent consultants, but it's the exact same life as a franchisee. And the tagline to Franchoice is helping people realize their dreams. But the whole industry is about helping people realize their dreams. So I mean, who doesn't want to be in an industry like that?
[00:07:39] So if you're out there and you're like, okay, Kim Daly, why are you so obsessed with wealth? Why is your Instagram and your LinkedIn and your YouTube channel and your podcast everything about creating wealth? Wealth. Because everybody wants wealth. What's wealth? It's time and money, freedom. Who doesn't want that? You, you really want to trade your time for somebody else's end game for the rest of your life? I mean, there are people who do, but maybe it's because they don't actually believe that wealth is for them.
[00:08:10] Maybe they don't believe that there's a way for them to actually build wealth. So let's talk about that because there are limiting beliefs that keep us stuck. I know it because I've interviewed thousands of people over the last 24, 25 years of my life that I've been here as a franchise consultant. And every Single day as I interview people, we're all the same. While we're different, we are all the same. Everybody wants time and money, freedom. They want to leave that miserable job. They want to stop working for a boss they don't love. They want to stop traveling so much so they can be home for their family. They. They want to own that cash flow into retirement so they don't have to live off savings. All the same outcomes.
[00:08:54] And then they're coming to the idea of owning a franchise again, for all the reasons I've just mentioned to buy down the learning curve. And also because wealth is always created through scale, and franchise businesses are built for scale. How many mom and pop businesses do you see ever make it beyond one, maybe two locations?
[00:09:15] Very, very few. Because entrepreneurship is very hard. There are no systems. Well, when you buy a system from day one that's designed for you to execute versus create, the scale is implied in that system.
[00:09:30] And if you can leverage your time through systems and technology and then a team of people, then your time gets pulled back. And now you're not dialed in, focused on just one location focus. But you can start to leverage your time across multiple locations, across multiple teams of people, across multiple trucks. If you had like a 1, 800, got junk business, and that multiplication of the location, the teams or the trucks is where the wealth is built. Always wealth is built through scale. So if you're a real estate investor, you're not just looking to own one property, Right? One gets you in the market, but doesn't build your wealth. It's how do I own multiple properties and leverage my time across that? So the same idea is going to happen here. So we want this wealth, but then there's this limiting belief in so many people that, well, wealth is for other people. Because I'm not smart enough. Like, I don't have an mba. I didn't go to business school. I've just been. I'm putting it in air quotes if you're watching the. The YouTube. I've just been, you know, an independent contributor in the IT department at my company. Like, who am I to think that I can go be a successful business owner and build wealth? Kim Daly, who are you not? That's my answer. Because at the end of the day, we're all human beings with the same exact makeup inside of us. We all want freedom. And if you have a desire to build wealth, I want you to hear me say this to you. What you desire desires you. What you want wants you. You wouldn't have the desire if There wasn't a way for it to be fulfilled through you. So that limiting belief that keeps you stuck on the sideline and not even reaching out to talk to Kim Daly about your wealth plan, that's all it is, is a limiting belief that keeps you stuck on the sideline.
[00:11:29] And as humans, we all have so many limiting beliefs. We're not worthy, we're not experienced enough, we don't have enough money, we don't have enough time. Good things like that don't happen for people like me. Like all of those things, all it is is just head trash. It's just noise. It's lies of your intellectual mind that prevent you from taking action.
[00:11:54] Because the story that we play in our head determines how we feel, and how we feel determines what actions we take or we don't take.
[00:12:06] So the purpose of this episode is to help you understand that if you have this head trash, I want you to remove it. Because all it is is a limiting belief. Now, I'm not saying that just because you reach out to me, it's going to be your time to invest in a franchise. I'm not saying that at all. But what I'm saying is if you have the desire to build wealth, cash flow that you own and control, where you can build a predictable, sustainable future for you and your family and maybe even a legacy for your family, I want you to reach out to me. I'm not going to talk you into franchise ownership or even business ownership, but I am going to talk you through it. I am going to take the time to help you understand how franchising works, what it costs to invest in a franchise, what are the skill sets, what are the key mindset attributes that lead someone to success in a franchise and someone else to failure in a franchise. Guys, girls, I've been around the block for a long time. Over 24 years, we're almost going to call it 25.
[00:13:16] That's a really long time. Because, you know, I'm really only 30 years old over here.
[00:13:21] And all during that time, I'm not just helping other people build wealth through franchising.
[00:13:28] I've been building my own wealth through franchising.
[00:13:32] So I'm not just, like on the sideline telling you to get in the game. I'm in the stinking game. I'm doing it every single day. And if you know my story, you know that I went from eight years as an average performer in my group to one year later in my ninth year of business, an absolute history maker, I grew my revenue by over 350% in one calendar year.
[00:13:56] So I know what's up. And over the last 13, 14, I don't know, 15 years now because that was 2011, this is 2026. I've been making and breaking my own historic records. I don't work harder. I think differently. I become a new me and I take action from a new identity and that new action is, inspires different results.
[00:14:17] So I know how to help you not just find the right vehicle for the wealth you want to build. If it is a business, that's my primary business for the last 20 plus years, franchise consulting. But I equally know and an incredibly passionate about helping you understand the difference between two franchisees who invest in the same franchise.
[00:14:40] And one goes on to build wealth and the other doesn't because that's another place that keeps people stuck on the sidelines. They're lost in all of these beliefs that the success of your business is determined by external factors. Well, I have to have the perfect territory, Kim Daly. No, you don't. Well, it's not the right time in my life. When is it ever going to be the right time? Ready is a choice. It's not. There's no such thing. It's like when you decide to have kids. Like disrupting your life is disrupting your life. No matter what's happening, if you want the end goal of having children, you just decide to do it. You know, you can plan a little bit, but really you just decide and you dive in. The same thing with owning a business.
[00:15:23] So these are limiting beliefs that keep people stuck. But I know factually why two franchisees by the same franchise have the same relative same territory. Because all territories demographically are the same and are trained by the same people with the same systems and tools.
[00:15:47] And then those two franchisees go out and create two very different results.
[00:15:53] This is why I created what I call the Z Suite. Instead of the C suite, it's the Z Suite. Why the Z, Kim? Not a zebra? Because you, my friend, as you buy in a franchise, are called a franchisee.
[00:16:09] So this is your suite where you get to come in and level up to you. So when you say yes to the franchise, you're buying the vehicle. And that's important because that's a lot. But it's not everything that equates to your success.
[00:16:24] There's the driver of the vehicle and that is you.
[00:16:27] So in the Z Suite, we focus solely and exclusively on you, the driver. I don't teach franchisees anything that contradicts what their franchisor told them to do. I'm not giving you new scripts. I'm not changing your marketing, I'm not changing anything about your franchise. And here's the best thing you're going to hear me say. You don't need anything different to change in your franchise in order for you to build the wealth and life of your dreams. I am living proof for 15 years. And now I have about 100 students who've passed through my doors and they are living proof. The results inside the Z Suite are nothing short of miracles happening every single day. But let's go back to my life, because what I produced for the first eight years compared to the last 15 years is nothing short of miraculous. I went from an average performer, same Kim Daly, one year later, made history, built the first seven figure business.
[00:17:32] Couple years after that I was looking for growth. I wondered, could I make a million dollars in six months? I didn't act differently, I became someone differently. And that becoming did make me take different actions, but I didn't work harder.
[00:17:49] And that year I made six. A million in six months. And so I made two million. Go out a little a couple years later.
[00:17:57] As life happens, it calls you higher and you're never gonna, we're never gonna get this journey done. Growth. Growth is innate in life. And so I'm not greedy. It's just life calling me to more life through Kim Daly. So. So a couple years after that, could I grow again? And I did. A couple years after that, I pondered, I wonder if I could cut my hours to less than 20 and still make at least seven figures. And I made 1.4 that year. So I've literally fought my way into all levels of result in my business.
[00:18:29] And I know exactly what I was doing because I've been studying personal development while all this was happening. And as I'm doing it and I'm reading the books, I'm going, yes, that's why it's working. And so today, inside the Z Suite, I've packaged everything I've been living and experiencing and the tools. I've read from great personal development books, psychology books like where Human Development Comes from, and I've packaged it and that's what I offer to people inside the Z Suite. So I'm obsessed with this one wealth conversation. Because wealth is not just for other people.
[00:19:09] Wealth is for you, my friend, the one who's listening to this podcast.
[00:19:15] The only difference between me and you right now, if you don't have wealth in your life, you don't own a business, is I dared to take action.
[00:19:24] I found a path. I learned the principles of success.
[00:19:28] I put my head down, and I followed through. Now, there's a lot more to it than that. But the only difference between me and you, if you're not building wealth for yourself, is you just haven't taken action. Well, that's the point of this whole episode, because I think there's too many people out there standing behind their limiting beliefs, and I don't want you to do that. I'm not here to talk you into franchising, but I am here to inspire you to believe in yourself and that if you want to build wealth, there's a way for you to build wealth. Does it have to be my way? No, there's many different ways. I'm just an expert at this.
[00:20:07] Building a business through a franchise where we create excess cash flow through the franchise and then move that excess cash flow into passive vehicles that then help to create more income into our home that we don't need, that we can turn back into more passive vehicles. And you do that for a couple of years, baby. I'm telling you, you're going to create a lot of cash flow that you don't need. And that's the definition of financial freedom. And when you get there, work becomes an absolute choice. Now, you may say, but you're still working, Kim Daly. Well, yeah, because when.
[00:20:41] When the pressure's off, the gig is up, right? Like, I do what I do because I freaking love it. And I want to help you love it. I mean, why would I stop? I'm a young girl. I told you. I'm only 30 years old. I have a lot to contribute.
[00:20:56] We're here in a physical body, a spirit in a physical body to advance life. That is the whole point of human life. And so if you stop growing, you literally start dying. There's nothing that stays the same. You're either moving forward or you're moving backward.
[00:21:14] So that's just me. I'm here to help you. That is the calling on my life. I am obsessed with the conversation of building wealth.
[00:21:24] I don't think that I'm alone. I think there's a lot of people out there, and I think there's a lot of you listening that are stuck. And the only place you're actually stuck is in your mindset.
[00:21:35] And then you're stuck there because you have limiting beliefs about what you're worth, or those kind of things don't happen for people like me, or I don't have enough experience, all the things. And it's all just a lie of your mind. A lie that when you come to me, I'm not going to talk you out of it. You are the only one who can decide if business ownership through franchising and building wealth that way is for you. But I would love the opportunity to educate you. Gosh, I know so much about this. Again, not just because I read it in a book, because I live it and have lived it. I myself have gone from average performing to history making. Same me, same, same business.
[00:22:17] Two totally different results. So I don't have to tell tell you why two different franchisees create two different results. I can tell you why Kim Daly. Same Kim Daly created two very different results.
[00:22:29] Nothing external to me ever had to change. I had to change.
[00:22:35] The wealth you seek is the. Sorry. The wealth you seek is created within.
[00:22:44] As within.
[00:22:45] So without.
[00:22:47] So the world teaches us that all these external things have to be right in order for us to get what we want. There's so much of that in franchising. It's my territory, it's my marketing, it's my franchisor. And I'm not judging. Like, I did it too for eight years. So I'm not judging. But the reality is I can prove to you and improving to my students in the Z suite that nothing external to you ever has to be a certain way or change for you to live the life of your wildest dreams, to make all the money you could ever imagine making and have all the time off that you ever would want. And that's the definition of freedom. That's the definition of wealth, is it not? There's more that goes into that definition of wealth, but at its core, that's the definition. It's time and money freedom and. And then your specific defi.
[00:23:40] And then your specific definition of wealth comes in after that, where you define what that time freedom is for you. What, how much money equals wealth. Because we all have varying amounts and desires for how much wealth we want to call into our lives. And that's the freedom part.
[00:23:58] But it begins with you removing the limitations from your mind.
[00:24:04] You reaching out to me. Because I won't bite you. I won't talk you into this, but I will absolutely talk you through it and I'll educate you. And the most important thing I'm going to help you do is build an actionable plan. So if the time is right now, maybe we get to look at companies, maybe you can join us in the Z suite and start leveling up your mindset. But if the time isn't Right. Financially or just where you are in your life. So. So what?
[00:24:31] We can still build that actionable plan. So you feel like you've taken the first step. Right. Life is not waiting for us.
[00:24:42] Sorry, I said that wrong. We believe that there's a certain time where we have to be ready. Right. And that's when we're going to take the first step. But everything has already been created, so we have to take the first step in order for our life to change.
[00:24:57] Life isn't going to change until we take that first step. That's what I was trying to say before I had to talk myself into that one. I couldn't find it. So that's what I want to leave you with today. That's what I want to inspire you to. If you are obsessed like Kim Daly with owning cash flow, building something that's predictable and sustainable, that allows you to control your cash flow for as long as you want to build a legacy for your family, not just a legacy of money, but a legacy of being an amazing parent who was there at all the kids events, who was happy every day, who felt blessed and grateful every day, who woke up and was excited on a Friday as they were on a Monday.
[00:25:40] Like, those are all definitions of wealth for Kim Daly. There's peace of mind, there's balance, all of the things.
[00:25:49] Well, you gotta reach out. We gotta have a conversation about what's important to you. And let me teach you about franchising. That's the franchise way, that's the business ownership way, and that's the conversation that I want to have with you.
